Pastor's Message

Welcome to the official website of St. John Orthodox Church of Levittown NY. We intend to make it an educational tool to all who seek to use it. This website can be used for information on our church. We are located on a spacious private property with our own parking lot on 80 Water Lane North in Levittown, NY. Our Sunday Divine Liturgy begins at 10:30 AM. All are welcome.

CONFESSIONS:-Confessions are offered on Sundays mornings (at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of Divine Liturgy), or by appointment with Father Boulos..

  • THE FAST OF THE DORMITION OF THE HOLY THEOTOKOS
    The fasting of the Theotokos begins on Friday, August 1st to Friday, August 14th. This Strict Fast requires abstinence from all meats, dairy and fish.
    We gather to celebrate the Great Feast of the Dormition (Falling-Asleep) of the Theotokos. During this fourteen day fast period, the Orthodox Church prescribes that the Paraclesis Service be held in honor of the Mother of God.
    Paraclesis Services to the Virgin Mary Schedule:
    - Monday, August 4th @7:00 pm
    - Wednesday, August 6th @7:00 pm
    - Friday, August 8th @7:00 pm
    - Monday, August 11th @7:00 pm
    - Wednesday, August 13th @7pm - Divine Liturgy of the Dormation of the Theotokos followed by Potluck dinner (each family is required to bring food dish/homemade).

SAVE THE DATES
Wednesday, August 20th. “2nd Annual Summer Bonfire” hosted by St. John Teen SOYO. We would like to invite all teens, especially the ones who will be attending college this year to join us for a gathering before school start.
Friday, October 17th - HAFLE NIGHT hosted by St. John Orthodox Church.

The pledge envelopes for 2014 is available TODAY. Please see Noelle Zaybak during the fellowship hour & don't forget to sign up for the fellowship hour.

~CONFESSIONS

~FELLOWSHIP HOUR & HOLY OBLATION
Volunteers needed to host the followership hour and Holy Bread for the health of your family or in memory of beloved ones. Sign up Sheet in the Hallway.
